Note: All meetings are held virtually unless otherwise noted. Meeting dates and times are listed on the NIHBA events calendar and may occasionally change due to scheduling conflicts.

Executive Committee

Leadership. Accountability. Vision.

The NIHBA Executive Committee provides leadership and oversight for the Association’s operations, staff, and strategic direction while helping guide important decisions on behalf of the Board of Directors. Serving on the Executive Committee is a leadership opportunity reserved for dedicated members who first join the NIHBA Board of Directors and are then voted into a NIHBA Officer position.

 

Meets on the 4th Tuesday of the Month at 8:00 AM.

Budget & Finance

Steward. Oversee. Secure.
This invitation-only committee plays a vital role in overseeing NIHBA’s financial health. Members review monthly financial statements and provide stewardship for the Association’s assets, ensuring responsible management and long-term stability.

 

Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8:30 AM.

Education

Empower. Educate. Elevate.

This committee drives NIHBA’s educational initiatives, promoting seminars, forums, and learning opportunities that tackle the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. Their mission is to keep members informed on the latest trends, sales strategies, and tailored business solutions to help you stay ahead and succeed in Northern Illinois’ dynamic home building market.

 

Meets on 3rd Thursday of the month at 11:30 AM.

Events Committee

Connect. Celebrate. Experience.

This committee is at the heart of NIHBA’s events, creating and planning impactful monthly meetings and signature events like Golf Outings, Calcutta, Builder Connect, and the annual Holiday Party. Sub-committees lend a hand with larger events, ensuring every gathering is memorable, meaningful, and a great opportunity to connect with fellow members.

Housing Advocacy Committee

Advocate. Influence. Impact.

This committee champions the voice of NIHBA and its members with local government, promoting public policies that support quality housing and responsible land development. By focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and affordability, members help shape a stronger, more vibrant housing industry across Northern Illinois.

 

Meets quarterly on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 8:00 AM.

Membership Committeee

Grow. Engage. Strengthen.

This committee drives NIHBA’s membership success by developing programs that attract new members and keep current members engaged. From New Member Orientation to Membership Drives, they create valuable experiences that enrich the membership. They also oversee ongoing growth through targeted outreach ensuring NIHBA remains a strong, connected, and thriving community year-round.

PR & Marketing Committe

Promote. Brand. Expand.

This committee is dedicated to creating new opportunities for members to showcase their businesses and services within NIHBA. By developing innovative websites and social media programs, they help elevate the Association’s brand, reach new members, and connect with consumers to amplify visibility and impact across Northern Illinois.

Professional Women in Building Council

Empower. Support. Amplify.

The Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council is dedicated to empowering women in the home-building industry through advocacy, awareness, and community engagement. Open to all members, PWB promotes professionalism, supports its members, and amplifies the voice of women at the local, state, and national levels to help drive positive impact throughout the industry.

Workforce Development

Inspire. Mentor. Build the Future.

The Workforce Development Committee fosters leadership, innovation, and collaboration across all levels of the construction industry. By partnering with local educational institutions, the committee mentors students, encourages career growth, and advocates for skilled trades to aid in preparing the next generation to shape a strong and thriving construction industry.

Cavalcade Steering Committee

Build. Showcase. Inspire.
The Cavalcade Steering Committee develops and executes the plans for NIHBA’s premier bi-annual Cavalcade Tour of Homes. Committee members work together to engage builders, sponsors, and industry partners while coordinating marketing, promotions, and tour logistics that highlight the best in new home construction throughout Northern Illinois. Their mission is to create an exceptional experience for attendees while maximizing exposure and opportunities for participating builders and sponsors.
